The wildly entertaining new comedy from Martin and Caussé sees a
man pushed over the edge when developers threaten his property and
livelihood.
Maxence Lafourcade, a peaceful single man, raises pigs in the Pyrénées.
His life takes a radical turn when he learns that a highway is going to cut
through his farm. To confront the mayor and his project, he must join
forces with the 'local American', Peter Konchelsky. This retired, cynical
lawyer adopts the farmer's cause, while his stunned daughter, Scarlett,
looks on. She's an eccentric artist, and in Maxence she discovers an
unexpected human model. Other folk join this gang of 'resistance
fighters': Inès, an eco-terrorist always at the ready for combat; Fabrice,
champion of the local rugby team; Bouzigue, Maxence's cousin who fears
his petrol station will lose its regular clients; and a pig named Casanova.
Welcome to a world populated by fools, suckers, jokers and elected
officials who bury their heads in the sand.
