Catherine Deneuve in Melbourne
We are delighted to announce that legendary screen icon, Ms. Catherine Deneuve, is en route from France to arrive in Australia as a guest of the Alliance Française French Film Festival.
"Catherine Deneuve is the living embodiment of all that is great about France's film industry and her visit will make the 2008 event a profoundly memorable occasion," said Jean-Jacques Garnier, Cultural Attaché to the French Consulate-General, and the Festival's Artistic Director.
Famed for her artistry, great beauty and cinematic collaborations with directors such as Jacques Demy, Luis Bunuel, Roman Polanski, François Truffaut, Claude Berri, François Ozon and Lars von Trier, Ms. Deneuve will visit Palace Cinema Como this Tuesday March 18 at 8pm to introduce a special screening of her latest film, AFTER HIM (Après Lui) in which she stars as a distraught mother who develops an obsessive interest in her late son's best friend.

Welcome to the Alliance Française French Film Festival, a unique window on French cinema in Australia! The 19th edition of the Festival will take place from 5 March to 6 April in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
In the competitive International film environment, our Festival continues to go from strength to strength, encapsulating a growing international interest in French cinema. Indeed, for its 19th edition, the Alliances Française in Australia offer you an ambitious programe with 436 screenings (333 screenings in 2007).
29 movies, 3 documentaries and 4 animations will be screened in Melbourne between March the 6th and March the 19th.
Action, romance, comedy, thrillers, fairy tales, ... featuring Juliette Binoche, Cécile de France, Catherine Deneuve , Sophie Marceau, Romain Duris , Julie Depardieu, Ludivine Sagnier, Daniel Auteuil, ... there will be fun for everyone!
