ANNA M

An unsettling psychological thriller about
the obsession of unrequited love, Anna M features a powerhouse performance by
the superb Isabelle Carré (Coeurs, In His
Hands), who portrays a mixture of
neurotic behaviour and cunning to chilly
perfection.
After a failed suicide attempt, young Anna
(Carré) becomes enamoured with her
happily married surgeon (Gilbert Melki, Intimate Strangers) and begins a
relentless and calculated pursuit of his
affections, finding new and creepy ways
of invading his mind, life and home...
The tension ratchets through small
details; madness in movies is rarely this
creepy, or entertaining. Comparisons to
Fatal Attraction don't do this superbly
crafted and thought-provoking thriller
justice.
